NEWS: I made a 2-color silkscreen Street Angel print.
I’m participating in an artist residency at the Brew House Association and they have teamed up with AIR (a kick-ass printing and arts organization on the North Side). This means I’m making some prints and the first one is done:
Since I hadn’t printed in a long time, I wanted to keep this first one simple, i.e. 2-colors. Street Angel’s been on my mind lately, so after a bit of sketching I arrived at this layout:
This is the finished artwork I used for the black ink (with some minor tweaking):
The pink prints dry on the rack:
Ready to start color number two:
An hour and a half later:
I thought the print would fit perfectly into a cheap 8 x 10 mat, but it turns out those things are really like 7 1/2 x 9 1/2 so it cuts off a little more of the print than I would prefer:
If you would like to own one of these prints you can buy one from me at PIX, MIX, or online. And if you’d like to keep up with any new prints or other stuff I’m working on, sign up for my newsletter. Thanks.
